so i was snooping around the website a little and got curious about the position of each and every dragon on this site.

i just want to know some general info about this subject, like standards for diff positions, there number ...

really had no clue what any of the forum rankings or positions really
meant, either. So this is all very interesting, informative and such.

*cosmo voice* Now, I'm just a simple dragon/moderator/artist, but the community is a little more equal in the members than most places are...talking to everyone here you wouldnt even notice that someone was a mod or admin if you didnt look at their tag ^^ like sel always says the mods/admins shouldnt have to step in and do anything, the forum is self policing! its set up in such a way that almost everything is resolved as a community, and by the community. as for positions, umm...i suppose people do things they like to do. i like to art, so i run the art trade and made the smilies. other people do other things, its just like a real community, just less crime!

If you're referring to the titles directly beneath posters' usernames, the moderator/admin/trusted member status has pretty much already been explained.

However, the other portion that has not been explained (Egg, Young Dragon, Wise Dragon, Adult Dragon, Legendary Dragon, and so on) can be explained very simply.  These ranks only have one deciding factor: post count.  An egg is someone who has made only a few posts, a young dragon has made more than the maximum to still be considered an egg (or hatchling, I don't rightly remember the exact order), and so on.  My own title of "Legendary Dragon" simply refers to the rather large amount of posts I've made.  There are dragons here who have been members of this site since its Draconomicon days who are still seen as "Young Dragons" because they haven't posted as much.  It's just an easy and somewhat lighthearted way of saying that a member has posted within a certain number of times since they joined.

Not that i want to seem blunt, or offending, but...
I always disliked post counts, titles and whatever else. Just my opinion.
I believe in roles holding meaning only in the moments while being needed.
