Remember when servers come into it, we have the server for draconity.org :)  Not sure it's needed atm, and I'm not sure how to implement bots in general but we could figure it out if/when the time comes for that server need.

One thing though Alastago, you registered the channel for some reason, which means noone else can add bots to there for other games bots we may want to add and the quiz bot I've wanted to implement for a while.  I don't know much about the registering of channels in the IRC but can that be un-done?  Or maybe we should move it to an unregistered channel so that things are open for all - there really isn't any need to register it as far as I can see.

Registering a channel means things can be managed easier, say..access levels, and channel modes. It does not however mean that bots cannot join..anyone can come in.

As for multiple bots in one channel though, they would interfere with eachother, and multiple games in one channel would become chaotic.
So It'd be easier to have a single bot running, with multiple games, which can be enabled/disabled by either the owner, or the users in the channel. I could do such an implementation if there were multiple game scripts of which we know we want them. Beware, i use mIRC to run the unobot(so would xyl), i don't know what the quiz bot you have runs on, but it'd be easy to have everything on a single platform.

Edit: looked around and found plenty of trivia scripts for mIRC. It also looks pretty simple to run this along with Uno on the same bot

The trivia bot was run in mIRC so no issues there.  I didn't mean having multiple bots running games in one channel at the same time, but having multiple bots available in the channel so they could be enabled/disabled by any user at any time is an ideal situation.  That way it is a proper gamehall and people have access to all sorts of things.  I'll find the quizbot soon, but the uno bot seems like a good starter to see how popular the channel is :)

I still don't see why you registered the channel though, it's open access so you don't need to manage access levels or anything like that.  This is a site that is very openly low-no moderation.  It's good to see you took initiative to create the channel but the registration just seems an unnecessary step.  If it really doesn't interfere with other people implementing bots in there then I'm not sure we need to move things elsewhere though, I was just told last night that it might (hence me mentioning it here - I was way too tired to look into it then heh).

I'll either PM you or catch you on the IRC to give the quizbot details - I've never implemented one before, only used it on a friends IRC server but it was loads of fun! :D

It's just my habits, it's always useful to have the option to be able to kick abusers, which is barely possible in an unregistered channel, because only one person can have operator, which is given on a join when the channel is absolutely empty.
It won't give any issues though, if all else, it can actually help with bots, as some require ops or other modes to operate properly, which is barely to not possible on unregistered ones.
I'm very curious why it would interfere with bots...who told you that?

But unregistering it is easy, if it really becomes such an issue. It's only one small command ;)

Right, there are russian roulette scripts as well. Worst thing that can happen is that you get kicked with the message Bang! in red text.

Can do :3 would you like it to be for multiple players playing with 1 gun, or just 1 player that says !roulette and receives a totally random result?
(since he was already in the channel: done :p )

Your idea spawned the trivia bot. It's like crack and nearly impossible for me to get away from.
..I love you :(

Mwahahaha I knew it'd get someone as addicted as me!

Still can't find the triviabot I originally had in mind, but Q isn't bad - we just need to be able to make him stop on demand.

I'll be on holidays for the coming 4 weeks, and am not allowed to leave my server up running in that time. (it wouldn't be such a good idea anyway, who knows what happens when i leave it there unmonitored). I'll leave the mIRC scripts here if someone feels generous enough to run it in my absence :)
How they work is pretty easy, the uno and trivia have readme's, and the roulette.mrc you can load directly into your mIRC

'ave a good summer :>

I don't use mirc, but i own a server in home which is supposed to stay up 24/7. I have it since years.
I can share a unix shell for who wants, with ssh access.

Though that would mean using a different bot-type, not sure if those scripts would work in a shell session.
