What if we had a moderator on the forum to "check in" on what's being posted (I know, "it's a pain for the moderators"), but I'm saying they could check on the forum once in a while to make sure it stays appropriate....

On a writing board I used to belong to, there was a place where people could have their erotica writing critiqued, and to be a part of that board you had to send a PM to one of the admins telling them that you are of legal age and saying you wanted to be a part of that forum.  As they had a person's age listed along with their username, etc., they could see if the poster really was the age they claimed to be... or at least, as closely as the Internet allows.  The forum was kept from younger eyes through that system.  Maybe that could be implemented here.

As to the viability of such a board, I think it would work out well, especially for those of us who are confused about sexuality and especially the healthy kind.  How it would help would be to give those who enter an outlet for their frustrations, their questions that they would not normally ask elsewhere, etc.  I think it would be a wonderful idea.

And I agree with the no yiff/porn idea as well.  If someone wants yiff or porn, it's easy enough to find elsewhere on the 'Net without bringing it into a discussion about draconic sexuality.

thats a tricky one, as Sel said there are a lot of younger users here and im sure their parents wouldnt be thrilled to see them surfing in that forum. they probably wouldnt be allowed back. not only that, but truth be told i dont think everyone would be able to keep it mature, id hate to see it just become a "post your favorite adult picture" forum or the next "4chan".

I think you underestimate the quality of our members, and our application process (which would filter out those attracted to the forum solely for that purpose).  In the entire forum, even heated religious debates, we've never /really/ had to use our banstick or do any formal "administrative action."

We can certainly try things.  We admins do have a "delete" button where we can delete the entire forum and pretend it never existed.  We can keep a "trial" disclaimer stating that any posts made have the potential to be lost if the idea doesn't work out.

In all forums where I've seen an adult section, 18+ section, or even a "yiff" section, it's usually very positive activity and not full of lust at all.  I've only seen one "yiff picture" thread and it was a rather intellectual approach and critique of each picture - and we won't even be going that far.

Personally, I feel the benefits outweigh the cons.  But, it's not really up to me - it's up to "us" as a community.  I'm listening to each of your posts before I decide to do anything.

I am against it being called the "Sexuality" forum. We don't need a whole forum dedicated to Sexuality. Not all the things Sel listed off was sexual. and While sexual doesn't always mean the act of sex, some people will assume. I think if it was called the "Adult" section or something similiar, it would better suit the topics instead of calling it "Sexuality"

I disagree.  If it was called the "Adult" section people would be more likely to misunderstand it as a forum dedicated to yiff and porn, the very things that have been stated up-front that its creators don't want to be associated with it.  I think "Sexuality" makes more sense because it encompasses a wide range of subjects aside from just the act of sex.  And if it were made either private or password-protected so that only members who were of age and wanted to be there could enter it, then really I don't see an issue with the forum or the name that has been suggested.

That sounds confusing. But I still strongly strongly strongly disagree that it should be called the "Sexuality" board. I am not against a board to discuss these topics. Keep it out of the Creativity Section to make it not pertain to "yiff or porn" call it "Adult topics" "Mature topics" but not sexuality... not everyone will understand that sexuality can also pertain to other topics. I don't even completely agree that it can pertain to other topics, because when I think of the word sexuality, I think of sexual orientation mostly. I do not think of genital shaving, circumcision, "The pill", alcohol or most of the others Selroth mentioned.

Well, the majority of the sites that I've been to that are referred to as "adult" sites are specifically related to porn and/or yiff, nothing else.  Also, "Sexuality" forums do have a tendency to be about the very things that Selroth pointed out would be in this forum.  Also, the definition of a sexuality forum is not the same as the definition of sexuality.  It can be about any subject that any person understands it to be about, not just what you think about when you hear the word "Sexuality."

Be confused all you want to, Lunarya.  And quote Dictionary.com all you want to.  Neither of these things changes the fact that what you think of when you hear the word "Sexuality" is not what everyone else thinks about when they hear that word.

And I must quickly add that if anyone can find a better name that either "Sexuality" or "Adult" that's fine with me.  I just don't want it being called the "Adult" board, because that implies porn or yiff, and that's something that the OP and Selroth have specifically stated they do not want in that board.

If you all can come up with something else, great.  I'm not against calling it something different, so long as it's not "Adult" or "Mature".  I simply disagree with the idea that the word "Sexuality" is necessarily a bad thing for this forum.

Google it yourself.. I could find nothing about the other topics in any of my searches.. The meaning of words can change through the years... and this is possibly one of them... Well, that's all fine and good, but if we are implying that it means something other that what you get, it likely means that we know what we're talking about.  Your generation is not the only generation out there, Lunarya.  Try to remember that.  You alone are not the authority here on what the word "sexuality" means.

I think both of those words are risky, and we should avoid putting them where they're very visible. What about giving the section its own name, like the Comfort Zone has a name? (Which is almost an appropriate name for this kind of section, too). That way, we would all have to think through what that specific section really is, undisturbed by our incorrect-but-oh-so-common associations to "adult", "mature" and "sex".

About the topic, well, I'm split. It's a very personal thing, so it can be very hard to discuss. It'd be awkward and challenging. Of course, that might be a good thing, leading us to overcome fears and better understand and respect eachother. It's like this with spirituality as well. Yet unlike spirituality, sexuality is far more physical and concrete, and interpersonal.

I vote yes for a trial period.

I certainly agree that a sexuality forum would be appropriate.  It would have a lot of benefits, and hopefully with the right atmosphere can improve on our understanding and health of such a taboo subject. 

My only concern is that we do have a lot of youth in the forum.  But, there's no law against a sexuality forum as long as there's no porn/yiff in it.

I don't mind creating such a forum, but I'd like to hear others' opinions on if we should have one, and what it should be like.

But do remember that there isnt any laws against youth+sexual content in Europe like the one in usa.

What, if any age limit should we impose? I would initially suggest the highest age of consent among us members' nations. So even though it's 15 somewhere (Sweden, for instance) and 18 somewhere else (many states of the US), I think we should put it at 18.

Of course, sexuality is something you should know about before you enact it. But that's hardly the responsibility of this community. Again, I'm split, but I'm careening towards 18+.

Im not supporting a such high limit. 15ish would be alot better, since if your smart enough to realise your draconit,y you should be able to handle such talk.
