Rocangus, your avatar is fine, it's simple short looped animation and being an avatar it's kept to the right away from the text. I at least am not bothered by it at all, just those dragonadopters get on my nerves.

It's a smooth animation, too.  Hardly distracting.

Yeah, I think sillydraco's animations are perfectly fine as there's not a lot of movement, it's smooth, and not flashy.

Well, what's done is done. I'll go this way, that is much more compact, in the future. Also, the animation is to the left of the text, and regular, short also.

I can understand that, little friend.

Now that I see that people are getting pissed, I think I shall change my signature totally right now. You know, I don't wanna have my posts ignored just because of my signature. I hope my little avatar can stay though...

I can't speak for everyone, but I'm not pissed at large animated sig lines.  I just find them distracting, is all, and a bit overwhelming.  I don't think I've ever ignored a post because of that; I just found it harder to read.

Don't worry about it, Rocangus.

I have been thinking of it myself, to be honest, a bit. Actually, I think this one fits me better than my last one, which is a plus as well.

You'll probably remeber I used to have the dragonadopter images in my sig. I wouldn't mind having one, but the site pressures you into getting clicks for up to five dragons. I quit because it takes too much time, and switched my signature to a few small, static adoptables. Are those okay?

I generally ignore signatures, avatars and everything, and jump to the content.
Though, i've also learned that having an image representation instead of a name tends to help mind linking the person to the posts he makes.
I've seen that sometimes this can also be replaced using a favorite quote.

But this just because i generally don't remember names so easily.

So i guess it's just a problem of size.

About animations... i'm an old school web surfer and i dislike somewhat things like animations, musics etc on sites.
... or epilepsy-making colors for that matter. It's like the web wants so much attention, that generally makes it an empty shell.

Are those okay?

I think so, although they take up some space when they have grown up. But not as much as the DA dragons though. I think I'll pass the smaller ones I've got anyways.

I truly believe a community can be managed very effectively without writing any rules down.

That is some interesting insight you have there, Selroth. I've got to remember that if CGB is ever finished.
