Except the Bible had it first.  :P

It did? Well, thanks for enlightening me!

I would hope that any changes that get made still reflect a priority of keeping threads well-organized by type to make them easy to find. Debate-toned subjects should not be mingling alongside games or other lighthearted, easygoing material. Threads dealing with spirituality don't belong with current events, supportive discussion of life's non-spiritual hardships, or online quizzes. As Rocangus said, there's a time and a place for everything. The time and place is not always apparent, however, because many threads can fit into more than one of the present sections.

This is especially problematic in Discussion or Debate. Cooled / Heated gets bogged down in disorganization. I would propose their replacement with a larger number sections and a rearranging of present threads to fit. In Cooled alone the thread themes appear to be spirituality (cooperative tone), spirituality (debating tone), magic, relationships, current events, and many others. Alternatively, subjects in Cooled could nearly all fit into Heated, Comfort Zone, Chat, and About You. In Heated, meanwhile, the themes are spiritual (cooperative tone), spiritual (debating tone), politics, current events, and many others that could be put into Cooled, Chat, and About You.

So that's how it is... I didn't think about that. Although, I think politics fit into heated, since political debates might get out of hand. Like, in the Swedish radio, sometimes, debates end with all parties babbling in the mouths of each other!

I agree with almost all of these, but I think Spirituality should be in the same section as Cooled and Heated. I don't think I'd use the Spirituality board so much, but I'm sure others will use it more.

I agree wholly with the second issue. I (as a matter of privacy) have tried to modify the appearance on my account and can get everything to normal but those.

I can understand the third issue, perhaps have those games can fit into a child board (sub-board?) of Chat.

That sounds like a great idea Shoj! I'd like that solution!

As with these animated icons, I think they're a bit silly, but I'm not outright disturbed by them.

Well there is now a spirituality board available.  Post in it to your hearts content!  As for any topics that would be better suited in that forum then you guys just let me know via pm or here and I can shift things into the new forum as/when requested.

Nez probably has an idea of which topics he meant didn't fit into the Cooled/Heated sections but others may do too.  Actually, with the newer threads topic starters could get in touch with me if they want their thread(s) moved into the new section instead of in whichever board they are currently?

Making a subforum for games just means we'll get a billion games and that's not what should be happening.  I think Chat handles the one riddles thread and one "game" thread, for now at least.

The animated big smilie thingies have been turned off for a while, in case noone had noticed.  Sel did it just after this thread was started.  It doesn't seem to have got rid of the ones that have been used already but there won't be any more added, so those will fade away from view as new posts are added.

I like the idea of letting people arrange the boards the way they want but not sure how that would affect any future changes that may need to be made (if boards are moved/changed/added/etc).  I don't think it's something we can actually do either lol but it's an idea that's good.

EDIT: Another idea suggested to me a while ago (that I haven't got around to until now, sorry!) is to have a specific thread for those baby dragon things in the signatures?  So they would be in that thread, one post per person, easy to click on for all who want to but not distracting in signatures?

Great idea! That would work well.

Quick question...

I have been moving older archived posts over for...ages lol!  The ones to do with spirituality, should I move them into the new section, or create new threads with the original question/topic to start completely new discussions?  Or do the latter but link to the older thread (which I'll move into the Cooled section)?  Or something else?

Well, there's one problem with putting the dragons in signatures at a special place instead of the signatures. You see, dragons (rather eggs and hatchlings) need to be viewed a certain amount of times within seven days, or they will die (this is only applied on dragons from dragcave.net). Although, maybe eggs and hatchlings from that cave could be an exception?

Otherwise, I'm indifferent to whether we will be allowed to keep our dragons in our signatures. Although, Maybe just the fact that they are animated disturbs people?

That, and that they take up a huge amount of screen space. For example, you have two rows of dragons in your sig - this is roughly equal to 11 lines of text. In many threads, this would mean your sig takes up more space than the average post! Threads where many people with such dragons in their sigs post tend to have more screen space devoted to the signatures than the actual thread, and since all those dragons are animated they are really, really distracting.

So please, reduce the size of your sigs, and try to keep animations out of them :)

Hmm... I could reorganize my dragons in such a way that they take up less space for now, and then when that thread is up I could put them there instead. I can clearly see your point Forfaox.

Yeah, I think move them to the new section.

Well, moving the Spirituality orientated threads to that section would be wise, I think.

I think it's a good idea to do that, or to at least move some of the current threads there, like the "Ask a Witch" thread.

It also might help start discussion there, so far there's no topics.

Yeah I figured it wouldn't be a "yey we can post the things we want to now!" hehe.  Up to you guys now to start the threads you want.  I'll move older ones in there slowly and newer ones as/when I come across them too.

For now though, lets get some new content that was wanted by most people.

So are we doing this post for putting the dragons in? I don't know where to put it, I want someone else to decide in this matter. But I think we'll have a go with it. I think we have a majority in that question.

Yeah I'll sort that out next week after I'm back in England.  Don't worry for the moment, it'll be sorted soon :)
