The debate was nice :) first we talked about lasagna, and then went through the topic list. Otherkin and religion, religion itself, what defines otherkin, what defines a dragon...but some unrelated discussion sneaked in as well, but that was good enough! It's not a full-fledged debate in the end. I should probably rename this to IRC *discussion* instead of debate :p
Regardless, it is a nice change of pace from forum discussions, and I'm sure we will do it again!

Some questions:
-what did the participants think of it! Was it organized/disorganized enough? Or in overall: how did you like it?

-And for everyone: Is there an other time that you would prefer? Or any opinions? The current set time (10 PM GMT) was very europe biased, but I hoped we could catch the americans as well since it's midday for them. Do let me know, I'd like as many people as possible to be able to make it :)

I think it was that the topic went silent for many days, and then the reminder went out with only a few hours remaining. I didn't spot it until too late. Suggestion would be to give 2 day notice, then 24 hour notice, then 6 hour notice. This lets people who learn about it only later have a chance to see it on the 'recent topics' list.

that would help, but in addition or perhaps instead people could click the "notify" link at the top or bottom of the thread next time one of these is scheduled. To put my two cents in, I say that there should perhaps be another time scheduled this month to discuss the same topic, since so many feel that they missed out? Midday is fine for me on saturdays, as long as it's not the first saturday of the month.

A calendar is the right tool for that.
Either personal, or in-forum.
I believe some calendar systems already give alert escalation like that.

Thanks for the suggestions! I'll be sure to post a few warnings beforehand the next time, and I'll also try to get it on top of the forum with the announcements. (Sel, aure, if you're reading this: DO EEEEEEEEEET :scream: )

I propose doing the next discussion on october 29th, so that we won't collide with the movie night, which is in the first weekend of October. Same time?
Also, feel free to list topics you'd find interesting, and i'll poke Kiantis to figure out the next topic too :3

An interesting topic may be "the importance of the form".
Basically, the point in which, as someone said, some people have 'character sheet' references.
Why can be important, if it is, to have a very definite aspect or form, or identity, rather than 'just a dragon'.

I'm sorry ><  I'm sure we'll experiment with some other times in the debates to come as well!

Also consider this a reminder everyone that it's TODAY

I do believe that the 29th of October is a Tuesday.
Just to clarify, do you mean Saturday the 26th? Or Tuesday the 29th?

Considering its now november, it doesn't matter as that debate has already been and gone! :)

Hehehe no problem.  This year has flown by!

I would think there will be another debate being planned though, so keep watch on this thread and they'll give info when it is sorted :)
