I tried looking through the older posts to see if anyone had posted a similar topic, but couldn't find one.  anywho... None of the dragon smileys show up for me and haven't since the new boards opened.  All I see is a red X with the smiley description next to it (dragon_blush, dragon_surprised, etc.)  I've tried looking through my account settings to see if I have something turned off that shouldn't be, but can't find anything.  Anyone else having this problem or am I missing something?

Same here, but im not one to complain about things like that... and I assumed it was Opera.

Fortunately I do have my own source of smileys I normally use anyway.


However if no one mentions they are having a problem with some aspect of the forum's functionality how is anyone supposed to be able to fix it?

Ahhh.  Hmmm...

No, I don't have any problem with the smilies showing up and Sel is going to be the best one to talk to about this as I didn't help with implementing them to start with.  Are you using Opera too J'Karrah?

Edit:  Just logged in using Firefox and still no smileys...

Hmm...  It seems to be happening with a few people, but not everyone.  Which is strange enough...  I don't think it's a browser thing.

Have you looked under Profile, then to the left "Look and Layout", then near the top it has a few smiley settings including a drop-down box.  Should be "dragon".  If it's not, lemme know as maybe a default setting is wrong or something.

If everything's right, then when you click the "reply" button to open the posting form, you should see a line of dragon smilies right above the main edit box.  When you click on them, the image doesn't show in the post (yet), but you see something like ":dragon_bouncy:"  You can also choose if you want smilies disabled or not in your post on-the-fly by expanding the "Additional Options" below the main edit box.

Hmm.  My setting is on "Forum/Board Default" and I have the dragon smilies...   :dragon_confused:

It was originally set to "classic" for the smileys which gave me the regular smiley face displayed in my profile. Setting it to "dragon" showed nothing which is why I went with "classic" in the first place.  Now, following Sel's suggestion I have set it to "dragon" and there they are!

So anyone else having trouble, if you're set for classic smileys try changing it. 


Still doesn't explain why the classic smiley would show up in my profile, but not in the messages... curious.   :dragon_confused:

did you set before or after the changeover, perhaps the classics arnt there anymore now?

Before the change over I saw all the smileys just fine.  It wasn't until afterwards I started having problems.
