Lately, things have been busy for me.  I haven't had much time or energy to continue the site upgrade (it's not a dead project though), along with a few other things.  Work has been keeping me away, and there have been pther events with others as well.

Either way, instead of not having a contest next month or so, I was thinking maybe someone would like to step up and make a contest or event.  I'd be happy to sponsor it and do whatever's needed to make it happen site-wise, but I'd like someone to think of it, implement it, and manage it.  I'll sponsor the rewards or whatever else with funds between $50 and $100 USD, transferrable via paypal and credit card.

So, maybe a gaming event?  An art contest?  A story contest?  Something else completely off the wall?  Heck, I'll even go with a guest speaker if someone could pull that off.  So, spin out your ideas here, and see who gets to throw my money around :)

Sounds like fun.  I'll start brainstorming and let you know if I come up with anything!

I love contests dealing with creativity. I mean, games of any sort are fun and all but a skill gap can ruin every thing. A skill gap in art, stories, poems, etc. makes for some very interesting and fun results instead. I was very suprised at the results of the April contest with the triangles and loved all of them.

If I come up with some cool ideas I'll let you know. I have some old ideas of mine or random things I've picked up over time and I'll see if I can put them together in a some what constructive & coherent idea   :dragon_happy:

Could do like a "draw the (active) members of Draconity.org" sort of thing.

Then again, I'm also trying to do something similar as a gift to those of deviantART (and some here) whose art I enjoy much.

Perhaps if there was like... let's put every participant into a hat, and then we draw names out, and we have to draw that person.

Human form or Dragon form? I'd find it more worthwhile to draw members here in Dragon form, noting the diversity of features and colors on each of our true forms.

I doubt people would want to pass photos around to people they don't know.  I wouldn't.

But it is an interesting idea... what if we were to draw our human selves and then draw the way we see our dragon form?  On the same thing?

I like the idea of drawing other members' dragon forms. It would be fun to see how someone might depict another's dragon form.

As long as they draw me as green, blue, and yellow, I'll be happy. We should give just general information to give room for creativity.

We've already had a couple of drawing contests.  Maybe a different kind of contest would be good to let others get involved?  Maybe a poetry or story contest, or "come up with the best dragon logic puzzle" or games or maybe even "Design a game dragons would play"

Well, just my thoughts anyway. :drag_idea:

These are some really good ideas!  Let's keep it up!

In a bit, I may ask someone to step up an PM me to coordinate it.  Though I'm not sure if that's necessary - you all already know the "how" to do it, and I've already given all the info you need.  So, you can draft up a set of rules and such, and send that to me and I'll post it where ever you say to post it to make it "official".  You can start the thread, and I'll edit it to make it an "announcment" as well.  And that's all that really needs to be done to start the event.

Maybe a photo contest that has something to do with your Draconity or just something you found that caught your eye and would make a great photo. Like a landscape or just everyday stuff... I dunno just an idea.

I had meant drawing the people as dragons, not the other thing.

Perhaps a contest for writing a riddle or something. Has to make sense, being answerable, but like... whichever riddle is left standing wins.
I don't know how that would actually work though. Perhaps you could run one... until it's solved or a set period of time.
