I think of all of the entries... Entry number 1 is definitely the cutest one. ^____________^
It is the one with the least triangles too, but they are used to great effect.
Etath's entry is very beautiful, I love how the eyes were done, and the shading is awesome!
I'd say it's much more like a tie for first.
And Hebby's definitely uses the triangles to great effect in creating a 3D image. It has a really warm feeling to it.
Booklover, your two pictures are cuuute...
And entry number 6 is cute, kind of reminds me of a Horny Devil (Those brown lizards from Arizona that are really spiky), only a dragon.
I was thinking about a third entry that takes my method I used in my second entry and to some extent with my first one (The green dragon) to a whole 'nother level, but I ran out of time to think about it. It would've been a dragon-fae sitting amongst some high grass, with various insects, frogs, etc, by a pond, and the grass would reflect off of the pond. The grass itself would be layered, as in I would make a single image per layer and then copy and paste the numbers ahead of one another. Same with the background, which would have clouds and such. There would also be foreground grass and such. I think it would've reached over 2000 triangles (around 100 kb)...
For Apronice's picture (Apronice is the albino dragon) I started off with a tinted gray color on one half of the page and worked on the window, space, the ship, and the console. I then worked on Apronice himself, with a bright green line showing where the current background was so I didn't draw Apronice too far over the window and stuff. The second screen right behind Apronice's head was done after that and added right to the background script. Apronice was added right after that, and the final triangle was an invisible triangle on the front of the console to place the three circles.
Hey... how did you count the triangles, Selroth?
I think it would be fun to have another contest like this, using triangles and such, in the future. Or maybe another shape, like 4 sided objects, which would allow chevrons, squares, trapezoids, etc... Octagons would be easier to make then.
Or maybe circles...
