When you're PMing someone, is it possible to a "Contacts" or "Friends" list like with Outlook Express or any other email program?

Most users use AIM or some other form of instant messaging.  And not a lot of people us the PM system.  But, it couldn't hurt :)

Unless someone already made a module for that, it would probably require rewriting or adding code to the pm system otherwise.  It might be done at some point it things get changed around, but for now the easiest thing is to do what I normally do with email.  Just keep a pm from all of your friends in your sent box or inbox.  Then you can just reply to one of those or something.

I rarely used the PM system when I was here before so it really wouldn't effect me one way or the other.

I use the PM system alot (cause I don't have any other cource of Im'ing people) so for me it'd be nice..^_^ pretty please?? lol Besides for those who dont use it much or for those who do..it's be a lot easier to just click on someone's name rather than type it (if their name is long such as myself).

This is kind of an old topic...

But as I said in my post above, the main reason for "Why not?" would be that it could potentially be a very major project.  T-Sar-Goth is probably most familiar with the CMS system and any modules it might have.  If there is a module for this, it would probably be either an easy or at most an annoying process to add the friend’s list.  However, if there is no such module, it could be a very major ordeal to add.  Even though we have several programmers around here, I don’t know of any that are that intimately familiar with the internal workings of the system.

So I think it is probably much more than simply asking nicely for someone to put it in, since it could likely be a very major project to undertake.

The only one of the admins who would be able to change the PM system and add modules is T-Sar-Goth (the site owner), and he is already quite busy.  So, although it is a good idea, don't expect changes anytime soon.

Vier: I thought I'd change avatars for a bit.  This one makes it more obvious that I'm female.  My name doesn't indicate that very well, so people often assume that I'm male.  I do like the other one though, so I might change it back now and then, or come up with something completely new sometime.
